Shauna received a bachelor’s degree in Apparel Design with a Minor in History from Seattle Pacific University and a master’s degree in Counseling from Eastern Mennonite University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia.
Shauna has clinical experience in local community mental health working with teenagers in schools and adults in mental health crisis stabilization. She has a passion for the spectrum of health throughout the lifetime, and meeting people where they are at. Shauna works with people from adolescence to end of life, and has a special interest in working with teenagers.
Shauna uses an integrative experiential approach to counseling, using a mixture of evidence-based approaches that help to incorporate the body and mind. She has training in the use of Motivational Interviewing (MI), Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eugene Gendlin’s Focusing, and Polyvagal theory.
When not working as a counselor, Shauna enjoys making and listening to music, art, being in nature, gardening and traveling.
