Rachael Reeder, LCSW
Teletherapist

Rachael received a Bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a Masters degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Maryland at Baltimore. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Virginia.

Rachael’s experience includes inpatient and partial hospitalization programs, working as an individual, family, and group therapist in two adolescent psychiatric residential treatment programs, and serving as a lead clinician in an outpatient substance abuse treatment program.

Rachael uses an individualized approach to assist youth and adults with a wide range of challenges, from anxiety and mood disorders to substance dependence and complex trauma. She uses evidence-based practices including a family systems framework and specific cognitive behavioral therapy modalities (such as for trauma or chronic pain). Rachael completed the advanced Collaborative and Proactive Solutions training with Dr. Ross Greene and supports youth and teens using this model as an alternative to motivational strategies for youth and teens. She has seen the positive impact this approach has through allowing youth to meet expectations and improving relationships with caregivers.

Rachael also supports alternative and creative therapies and enjoys working with LGBTQ+ individuals, individuals throughout the lifespan (with a wide range of abilities), as well as those on the Autism Spectrum. Her vast experience, and scope of clinical reach, makes Rachael a great fit for MySpectrum. She provides Teletherapy (ADD link: https://myspectrumcc.com/teletherapy/) at MySpectrum, so no matter where you are in Virginia, you might be able to connect with Rachael!

When not working, Rachael enjoys reading, horseback riding, running, cooking, spending time with family, and watching movies.
