Melissa earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Millersville University and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an emphasis in Neurocounseling from Bradley University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia.

Melissa has extensive clinical experience working in juvenile and adult drug courts, regional jail programs, private practice, outpatient, school-based, and virtual settings. She has served a diverse population, including children, adolescents, young adults, parents, couples, military members and their families, first responders, and individuals from the LGBTQ+, POC, and substance use recovery communities.

Currently, Melissa provides virtual counseling services to young adults, adults, and couples, addressing concerns such as depression, general and social anxiety, Autism Spectrum, trauma, grief, relationships, attachment, recovery maintenance, life purpose, stress management, parenting, life transitions, and identity.

In her practice at MySpectrum, Melissa specializes in brain-based, attachment, and trauma-focused treatment, integrating evidence-based modalities, including Attachment-Focused Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Relapse Prevention, and psychoeducation.

When working with Melissa via telehealth, clients can expect a collaborative, compassionate, and personalized experience. She supports clients in developing skills such as mindfulness, value-based living, cognitive reframing, self-regulation, self-care, self-compassion, and cultivating adaptive core beliefs. Melissa recognizes that suffering is a universal human experience that can prompt reflection on what matters most. She strives to create a safe space for clients to engage in self-exploration and move toward healing and growth.

In her spare time, Melissa enjoys traveling, camping, party planning, reading, crafting, and exploring life with her husband and infant.
