Leila earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from James Madison University and a Master of Education degree in Counselor Education with a specialization in School Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is a Resident Counselor in Virginia, practicing under the supervision of John Berry, LPC, at MySpectrum.

Leila has previously worked with children with autism spectrum disorder in home, community, and center-based settings. She has also worked with students in a school counseling environment focusing on areas including body image, self-esteem, eating disorders, anxiety, and depression. Leila’s personal journey into motherhood has inspired a particular interest in supporting clients through areas related to preconception, pregnancy, and postpartum. Leila is passionate about working with new parents to navigate the unique challenges and emotional experiences of this transformative time. 

Leila believes that strong therapeutic relationships between clients and therapists result in the most successful outcomes and she places a strong emphasis on building trusting relationships with her clients. Leila’s mission is to empower clients to achieve their personal goals, enhance their well-being, and lead fulfilling lives. 

Leila incorporates principles of person-centered counseling, strengths-based counseling, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and attachment theory. With a holistic and integrative approach, Leila is committed to tailoring her therapeutic techniques to the unique needs of each client. 

Some of Leila’s interests aside from being a Therapist include gardening, reading, hiking, taking her dog on walks, watching movies, and working on the next home improvement project.
