Grant Tomey, LPC

Grant completed his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from West Chester University in 2012 and Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Old Dominion University in 2014. Grant is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Virginia.

Grant has experience working with all age groups and has treated individuals with a wide range of mental health issues from mild to more severe. Grant’s areas of specialty and interest include men’s issues, relationship issues, social anxiety, health anxiety, and crisis intervention. Through Teletherapy at MySpectrum, you can meet with Grant in a place that is convenient, private, and comfortable for you. Grant has experience providing Teletherapy before joining MySpectrum and will ensure the process is smooth for you.

Grant relies on the theories and techniques provided by treatment models including Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Person Centered, and Solution Focused. While you can be sure that you will receive high-level care through receipt of the latest evidence-based treatment, Grant’s calm and down-to-earth presence will set the groundwork for a strong therapeutic relationship that is needed to tackle the most difficult of issues. The idea of counseling can be scary, but Grant’s ability to quickly forge a relationship under the most difficult of circumstances will quickly put you at ease. Through your work with Grant, you will get closer to becoming your own expert on yourself, your relationships, and your world.

Grant currently lives in Roanoke, Virginia, with his partner and four furry critters. In his free time, he enjoys playing the drums, lifting weights, cooking (and eating), and spending time with loved ones.
