Amy received a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature with a minor in Gender Studies from James Madison University and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Virginia.

Amy has extensive clinical experience in community mental health throughout the Richmond area. Her areas of specialty include substance use treatment, working with individuals involved in the criminal justice system, and providing individual therapy for adults.

Throughout her career, Amy has worked with clients experiencing a broad range of concerns including anxiety, depression, addiction, and stress related to life transitions. She brings a warm, personable, and down-to-earth approach to therapy and believes in building a trusting and collaborative relationship to help clients achieve their therapeutic goals.

Amy strives to create a nonjudgmental and encouraging environment where clients feel supported throughout their healing process. Her therapeutic style is holistic, person-centered, and strengths-based, focusing on meeting individuals where they are while empowering them to move toward meaningful change.

She incorporates several evidence-based treatment approaches into her work, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based interventions, object relations theory, and solution-focused treatment.

Outside of work, Amy enjoys hiking, baking, gardening, and practicing yoga.
