MySpectrum: A Practice, Not a Platform
With the onset of COVID-19 and the booming world of virtual options for many services, including therapy, it is hard to tell what’s behind the scenes. You might see advertisements and information about various telehealth services, many that look inviting. You might even choose one of these options and find that the process is smooth to get you scheduled. It could even be that you are connected with a Therapist who fits you like a glove. That would be ideal.
But, that might not be reality. Maybe you have a complex diagnosis or you don’t even know what diagnosis you might have. Maybe you aren’t seeking therapy because of a diagnosis, but moreso because you are having a hard time and you don’t know why. Trying to articulate what might bring you to therapy can be a daunting task, one that might require a bit of hand-holding. Or, at least a bit of patience and understanding.
At MySpectrum, one of the attributes that makes us different from other companies that offer an extensive telehealth service is that we are people too. We use technology to help us streamline processes, to organize information, and to make certain aspects of your journey more user friendly. We do this so that we can spend more time with those who need our time.
We recognize that you might need a human touch in your path to wellness and this can’t be replaced with technology. We have an administrative team who works out of our home office in North Chesterfield, Virginia. They are actively involved in the client experience and are available to be your navigator through the process, should you need it. The people who make up the administrative team have names and faces, which can be found on our website here.
Supporting and overseeing the operations and administrative functions of MySpectrum are leaders with backgrounds in mental health services. Our Operations Specialist provided mental health care for over a dozen years and our Director is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with almost 20 years of experience. While we might have certain experiences with technology, we also have the same (or more) experiences actually providing the services we offer. Many telehealth driven companies are led by those with backgrounds in technology who are good at what they do. They focus on the tech aspects of the service. We focus on helping people. Because that is what we do.
MySpectrum believes in serving through telehealth via our Teletherapy service. We believe that this offers more people the opportunity to receive the help they need without the added strains that might come into play with needing to go to an office for therapy. You don’t have to set aside time to travel, you don’t need to pay for gas, you don’t need to brave the weather, and you don’t need to worry about changing out of your comfy clothes. You can see your Therapist in a setting that is comfortable for you. You can use our HIPPA secure telehealth platform and decide where you have your session. MySpectrum has clients who live all over the Commonwealth of Virginia, and our Therapists do too. Through Teletherapy, we are able to connect with others on a broader scale. Not because we want to be a huge tech company like those in Silicon Valley, but because we want to be the go-to place for mental health and wellness care. For Virginia and beyond.
MySpectrum Counseling & Coaching is a practice, not a platform.
