Dr. Gifty Addai-Pickett is a doctoral prepared board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Hampton University in 2011. She then earned her Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Shenandoah University in 2019. Later, she earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Wilkes University in 2023. She is licensed in the states of Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, and Delaware.
Dr. Addai-Pickett has over 12 years of experience working with the lifespan from children to geriatrics. Her experience includes inpatient, partial hospitalization program (PHP), correctional services and outpatient services.
Dr. Addai-Pickett’s approach is patient-centered and holistic, creating a partnership with each client to help improve quality of life. She has had additional training in mental health integrative medicine, an approach which includes a combination of lifestyle, nutrition and traditional medication recommendations, when necessary. She advocates for patient empowerment, clear communication, and education to achieve client set goals.
Dr. Addai-Pickett treats a wide range of mental health/psychiatric conditions, including but not limited to, mood disturbances, depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, bipolar disorders, schizophrenia, OCD, PTSD and ADHD. Her commitment is to assist clients on their journey to mental health wellness and consider the whole person, not just the symptoms.
When not working Dr. Addai-Pickett enjoys traveling the world with her husband and kids, gardening, volunteering, and running in the early mornings with her dogs.
