Erin has a Bachelors degree in Psychology and a Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling from Norfolk State University. She was inducted as a member of Kappa Delta Pi Alpha Iota Beta Chapter, an international honor society. Erin is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia.
Erin is a certified prescreener and specializes in providing short-term crisis intervention counseling to children and adolescents. Her clinical interventions include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and trauma-informed care. She has a passion for helping families and those underserved in the community.
Through over 14 years of experiences as a Qualified Mental Health Professional for both adults and children, Erin has vast knowledge of various mental health issues impacting ages 5-18, and adults. She has provided services to the community mental health sector in positions such as intensive in-home counseling, mental health support, therapeutic day treatment, and crisis intervention.
For Erin, giving back isn’t driven by compensation for services, but by the self-gratification of knowing she makes a difference. Her determination to motivate, encourage, and offer unconditional support to others has shaped her into a competent, compassionate, and committed counselor. Erin meets her clients at their point of entry of need through assessing and linking them to various community resources, coupled with other collaborative efforts for successful treatment. Her person-centered approach allows clients to feel safe as they transition into new ways of thinking and living.
