Stacy McKinney, LCSW
Teletherapist
Stacy earned her Bachelor’s degree in Human Services from Old Dominion University and her Master’s degree in Social Work from Norfolk State University. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia who values connection, authenticity, and creating a welcoming space where clients feel supported as they navigate life’s challenges.
She brings a broad range of Social Work experience supporting children, adolescents, and families across multiple settings, including public schools, hospitals, private practice, medication-assisted treatment programs, and work with individuals involved in the justice system. In school-based and clinical roles, she has worked closely with children and teens addressing concerns such as anger management, peer and interpersonal relationship difficulties, self-esteem, self-harm, grief, and experiences related to acute psychiatric hospitalization.
Stacy’s approach to therapy is approachable and focused on real-life change. She uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused strategies, and a direct, honest style to help clients recognize patterns, build practical coping skills, and make changes that feel realistic and sustainable. Her goal is to create a supportive space where clients can explore challenges, try new approaches, and develop tools that work for their everyday lives.
In her free time, Stacy enjoys going to concerts, traveling, shopping (loves thrifting!), watching documentaries/movies, and spending time with her partner and dog.
