Margaret McFarland, LCSW

Outpatient Therapist

Margaret earned dual Master’s degrees in Social Work and Disaster Resilience Leadership from Tulane University. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.

Over the years, Margaret has worked in hospital-based social work, school-based services, and community mental health, as well as in specialized roles supporting clients with weight management, eating disorders, body image, and other health-related concerns.

Margaret enjoys working with clients across the adult lifespan, with a particular interest in young-adult and older-adult issues. She supports people navigating health and body-focused concerns, life transitions, emotional challenges, and changes in relationships. Margaret believes every person’s story is unique, and that therapy works best when it is tailored to the individual’s needs, goals, and strengths.

Her approach is collaborative, adaptable, and grounded in the belief that clients are the experts in their own lives. She focuses on creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel supported in exploring challenges, building resilience, and making meaningful changes at a pace that feels right for them.

Whether you’re seeking support during a life transition, working toward health goals, or simply wanting to better understand yourself, Margaret is committed to walking alongside you in the process.

Outside of work, she enjoys weightlifting, traveling, and trying new restaurants. Margaret values staying active, spending time outdoors, and discovering new places in her community.
