Mark received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the City College of New York (CCNY) and a Master’s degree in Social Work from New York University (NYU). Mark is an EMDR Certified Therapist and is also certified as a Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC). He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia.

Mark has over 18 years of experience providing services to adults involved within the criminal justice system with substance use, mental illness, and trauma. Mark believes that there is hope and is passionate about helping those who are struggling or weighed down by the loss of a loved one or disturbing memories from the past.

Mark utilizes a variety of evidenced based therapeutic approaches with a focus on trauma informed care including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical and Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). As a Christian, Mark is also able to integrate traditional talk therapy methodologies with Christian belief practices by incorporating theological concepts, to ensure that the work that he does with those he works with are as beneficial as they can be.
