Katherine received a Bachelors degree and Masters degree in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth Universersitity. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia.
Katherine’s experiences in community mental health with children, adolescents, and families have provided her with experience and knowledge that bring her to MySpectrum. Katherine has extensive training and expertise in working with children in foster care or kinship placements, as well as adoptive families. Katherine also has the ability to work with caregivers and families who have grown through foster care, adoption, or kinship placements and utilizes Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) principles in her approach to this type of family work.
Katherine believes everyone should have a safe and healing place to work through new roles, experiences, and circumstances as well as understand, process, and reflect on past challenges and traumas. Katherine utilizes a person-centered, trauma informed approach to her work with individuals, families, and parents.
When not working, Katherine enjoys spending time with her family and dogs, travelling, reading, and watching Disney movies.
