Jillian Giannelli, LCSW
Jillian received a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Hofstra University and a Masters degree in Social Work from Fordham University. Jillian is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in both Virginia and New York.
Jillian has worked with diverse populations, including but not limited to, clients with mental health challenges, substance use issues, impending homelessness, emotional issues, and whole life challenges/stressors. She worked in a hospital setting in New York whereby she helped those with co-occurring mental health and substance use concerns, along with medical diagnoses including HIV and terminal illnesses. Jillian’s experience has prepared her for working at MySpectrum, to meet the needs of each person across the lifespan.
Jillian’s approach is always with a positive attitude, warm and empathic, and non-judgmental. She believes that a strong therapeutic alliance is one of the key factors of reaching goals in therapy. Jillian meets each client where they are at in life and works collaboratively with them to individualize a treatment plan specific to that person and their needs. Jillian uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused or Client-Centered approaches, Strengths Perspective, and other modalities (or a combination of several to best meet the needs of every individual).
In her free time, Jillian likes to spend time with family, friends, and her dog Betsy. She also likes sunny days on the beach and traveling.
