Jamie received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia.

Jamie has 20 + years of experience in a variety of public child welfare settings including supervision, training, and case management in addition to outpatient counseling, clinical supervision, and child advocacy. Through these experiences, she has developed a strong background working with youth & families impacted by trauma, domestic & interpersonal violence, attachment disruptions, caregiver stress, mental illness, substance abuse, delinquency, and parenting dynamics unique to adoptive and kinship families. 

Jamie strives to create a therapeutic environment that is empowering, safe, & supportive utilizing a strengths-based approach that can best be described as collaborative and holistic. She believes that clients are not only impacted by their individual experiences, but also systemic issues and the larger social environment.

In her clinical practice, Jamie incorporates a variety of evidenced based perspectives and modalities, including solution focused techniques, family systems and attachment theories, trauma informed care, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy ( DBT), and Motivational Interviewing.
