Cara graduated from Florida State University with graduate degrees in both Social Work and Criminology. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia.

Cara began her career as a Medical Social Worker at a children’s hospital in Virginia. She has experience working with children, adolescents, families, and adults. She is skilled in collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to advocate for the overall wellbeing of clients. She is knowledgeable about working with outside agencies to ensure clients are well-supported and well-connected in the community.

Cara has used cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, person-centered, and strength-based therapies when working with clients. Cara is passionate about providing empathetic and individualized care to all clients. Cara believes that effective therapy occurs when a trusting relationship is built between client and therapist. She takes the time to get to know every client so that treatment can be tailored to the learning styles, communication preferences, and interests of each individual client. Cara strives to create a judgment-free environment of acceptance, honesty, and authenticity that can help clients foster their own strengths and abilities.

In her free time, Cara enjoys spending time with her spouse and family. She loves the beach and escaping into a good book.
