Marisa received a Master of Education degree and a Certificate in Advanced Counseling from the University of Lynchburg. She is the Treasurer on the Board of Virginia Association of Play Therapy, working toward a credential as a Registered Play Therapist (RPT). Marisa is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia.
Marisa has experience working with children, adolescents, and families. Her personal philosophy and approach to counseling is a collaborative work that considers life experiences, patterns, relationships, and beliefs that have shaped and currently influence you or your family member’s ways of being in the world.
Using a trauma-focused, holistic approach, she meets her clients where they are to collaborate on the path to healing. Using person-centered modalities, Marisa will allow her training to guide the process of identifying and exploring challenges through building a relationship with you and/or your family member. By providing a safe and accepting environment that facilitates growth, insight, and change, Marisa will work with you to determine the best fit for your needs.
