Angela Tallman, LPC

Angela earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Johnson State College, and she has a Master of Science Degree in Professional Counseling also from Johnson State College. Angela is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia. 

Angela has spent the majority of the past decade working in Emergency Services, serving those that have thoughts of self-harm to themselves or others, or those who have attempted suicide. She has also worked with individuals and couples on relationship and intimacy issues. Angela has experience working with the LGBTQ community and has done some focus work in this area as her oldest daughter is a member of the community. Angela has additional experience working with those who experience anxiety, depression, loss of a loved one, Bipolar Disorder, ADHD, addictions, family conflicts, trauma and abuse, grief, eating disorders, sleeping disorders, parenting issues, anger management, career difficulties, compassion fatigue, and coping with life changes. 

In her therapeutic work, Angela is a strong believer in communication. She uses a motivational approach, as well as some cognitive behavioral techniques. She practices Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Existential Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Angela approaches therapy as a journey that she is taking with you. She considers herself to be non-judgmental, open-minded, welcoming, and has a true passion for helping people find their strengths.
