Amethyst received her Bachelors degree in Social Work from Clark Atlanta University and her Masters degree in Social Work from Barry University. Amethyst is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Florida, Texas, Maryland, Washington DC, and Virginia.

Amethyst holds experience working in the fields of trauma, diverse populations, adults, families, children/adults with chronic illness, substance use, LGBTQIA, dual diagnosis, and within the criminal justice system. Since she began her work in Social Work, Amethyst has held positions in crisis, case management, therapy group facilitation, and individual therapy.

In clinical practice, Amethyst’s focus has been in Anger Management, Grief Therapy, and Transgender Care. In her more recent work, she has provided clinical consults for older adults, and psycho-education for caregivers of older adults.

Currently, Amethyst serves as the President of the Miami-Dade Chapter of Association of Black Social Workers, and as Spokesperson for the Egbe Omo Yansa of New York.
