Jessica Evans, LCSW
Teletherapist

Jessica received a Bachelors degree in Social Work from James Madison University and a Masters Degree in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. Jessica is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia.

Jessica has over 22 years of experience providing services in a variety of settings to several populations and all ages. She has a wealth of knowledge from both professional and personal experiences. Jessica provided mental health services to adolescents and adults with developmental disabilities for over a decade.  While doing so, she organized and facilitated a peer support group for individuals with developmental disabilities. Additionally, Jessica worked as a crisis services therapist in hospitals and detention centers and has experience working in schools, partial hospitalization, home health, probation, addiction, and private practice.

Jessica’s passion is working with individuals struggling with substance use/addictions as she is able to understand and relate from personal experience.  She knows what it was like to be the person who had to seek help for an issue that was impacting all aspects of life.  Jessica recognizes first-hand how hard it can be to take the steps to become and stay clean/sober, yet also is proof that it is possible!

Jessica strongly believes that every person and every situation is unique; therefore, treatment should be based on the needs of the individual using evidenced-based methods, (rather than only treating a diagnosis).  Using a person-centered perspective and meeting individuals where they are at, Jessica provides a safe environment to support each person in acquiring techniques to create their desired change. By recognizing that the individual is the expert in their own life, success is obtained by meaningful growth and sustainable change.

Although Jessica uses a variety of clinical approaches, she often incorporates Person-Centeredness, Strengths-Based, and/or Solution-Focused techniques as she believes that is the best way to reveal individual strengths needed for ongoing success.

Whether you are considering making a change, or are ready to take that next step, Jessica is passionate about guiding you through the process!

In her free time, Jessica above all enjoys spending time with her family.  She loves to be outdoors especially in the snow or water.  Some of her favorite activities include: boating, fishing, kayaking, hiking, frisbee golf, snowboarding, and building snowmen.
